I would like someone could explain to me when such a party existed in reality
in any of those so-called socialist countries, one such party that was
democratic not just unitary and centralist. My knowledge and long experience
tell me that anyone who tried to make those parties a little democratic was
quickly expelled from those parties. There was some democracy under Lenin but
only in the Central committee, not the whole party . That someone believes that
something like that existed under Stalin when Stalin killed almost all members
of the Bolshevik Central Committee is beyond belief. But maybe I misunderstood
this "That it may serve as a discussion area for those believing there was a
socialist state in the USSR up to 1953." and " I talked a while back as to why
I think the term Stalinist is simply a catch-all for simple abuse or a lumping
together of whatever-you-don't-like of Brezhenivism"

To repeat the words of the well-known Yugoslav (Croatian) Marxist philosopher
Milan Kangrga: "Nowhere in the world was there socialism, or communism, and
least of all Marx's. It was about Stalinism that lasted the whole epoch. And if
you call Stalinism left-wing, then you can shoot yourself. Are we really going
to say that Stalin was a follower of Marx or a humanist?"
