Like you, I believe Mao's China and Stalin's Soviet Union were the closest approximation to proletarian democracy the world has ever seen, and such limited but necessary repression which existed was mainly directed against Trotskyites, Bukharinites, kulaks, and wreckers in the service of Western imperialism and fascism.
