Thanks Ian. What do you think, would a socialist agricultural economy of livestock (I think we can dream still, even if this is not quite round the corner) look like? As I recall of the Jakob-C disease, the vector was not over-crowding but feed content (choped up cow 'left-overs' etc). But preventive medical principles would imply stressing not necessarily a total vegetarian but more so vegetarian eating, a matter of education & costing presumably. What other simple grounding principles do you think would/should be put in place come the days...? One presumably includes animal welfare including over-crowding. (Apart from moral-philosophical issues, I believe I saw data once that over-crowding -> increased cytokine release in the meat etc). H
