I think Trump is SUI GENERIS. My analogy is to Isaac Asimov's FOUNDATION
series where the historians predcited the trajectory millenia into the
future --- but in the second volume a MUTANT shows up ("The Mule") which
destroys their neat little predictions ---
Trump is not a product of the ruling class --- he is a self-interested,
dishonest, ignorant PROMOTER who wanted to use that PResidential run to
start his own media empire -- but instead he (surprisingly) won --- The
extreme right wing has glomed onto him --- and now TRUMPISM does represent
a threat to the "regular order" of the two headed bourgeois party (the
Republocrats or the Democracans) --- No use speculating -- Trump was not
killed. (I think if he had been there would have been vigilante efforts to
kill "the other side" so we should be grateful he survived)
If he wins it will set back the effort to deal with climate change and it
will be horrible for immigrants and women's and voting rights but we will
continue to fight back.
(and everyone knows I am in the camp that says THIS TIME the "lesser of two
evils" is MUCH "lesser" ... and I imagine Im in a minority here on that one)
