Like a total fool, I even added a complimentary comment about how he firmly grasps the root of nationalism in general since the possibility of a leftist magazine publishing a text that could be classified as, paraphrasing Bob Dylan, racist foam from the mouth never once crossed my mind. But here I am, wondering now how pathetic it is to use ethnic and religious adjectives as insults, or how one can descend into the depths of supposing that the obsolete and derogatory version of the word "Muslim" would be a smart way to salute fellow nationalists (like a secret handshake or a wink). But, the main question here is, how on earth did Counterpunch editors approve to publish this aggressively conspicuous example of common ideological delusions besieging contemporary societies (considering the prevalence of anti-immigrant rhetoric and sentiments)?
