That’s very true.  The challenge is to create the critical mass needed to overcome the power of the bourgeoisie.  Without a strong mass of people and politicians representing socialist values, the power of a working-class movement will always flounder.  Influencing the “friendliest party” by infiltrating them with socialist candidates would increasingly tilt the balance of power toward labor.  If enough of them create a critical mass that has the potential to win (e.g. candidates that poll around 35-40%), then they could branch out into their own party.  However, that would require a monumental undertaking and millions if not billions in cash.  Meanwhile, the Greens will continue to threaten the friendliest bourgeois party by running hopeless candidates, and Trumpist ghost candidates will continue to infiltrate and fool Democrats.
