There's an ebb and flow to class struggle? No kidding, but the capitulation to the Dems is based on more than ebb and flow. It's based on 1) the rise of right wing forces over fifty years 2) the so-called eclipse of class consciousness 3) the belief that the Democrats can be organized as an effective counterweight to the expansion of the extreme right. It's (3) where (2) exposes itself. Does anyone think right-wing growth and actions are going to decrease in the near future if Harris is elected? Does anyone not think the economic drivers of the right, which are and have been an increasing need to sustain private wealth even over corporate accumulation by attacking wage rates, and living standards, and employing asset liquidation, are going to ease in the next 4 years? I don't think so. I think we'll be repeating this miserable debate again because there will be another fascist running against a Democrat?
