I find this interesting, as a former Trotskyist who hasn't kept track of the many Fourth Internationals. I think we need a guide as there are at least five of them, if I'm counting correctly. Since we have major international issues like the invasion of Ukraine and Syria, an information table would help that has a row for each Trotskyist International and a column for each issue on which they split. My particular flavor of Trotskyism advocated the right of self determination of oppressed peoples as a struggle that can lead to a socialist struggle, so I guess (without doing much of a search) that the FT-CI either does not think that the invaded Ukrainians are oppressed or otherwise do not have the right to self determination. https://www.leftvoice.org/The-Russian-Revolution-and-National-Self-determination/?utm_source=chatgpt.com suggest an FT-CI orthodoxy with respect to self determination of oppressed nations, but not in the case of Catalan independence, not unlike Ukraine. I wonder how one gets to an "independent socialist Ukraine" after advising the Ukrainians to roll over and die as an independent nation. The call for an independent, socialist Ukraine in the face of a foreign invasion seems vacuous to me. To fight the invasion, they need to get weapons from somewhere and that somewhere could only be the western-imperialist camp. I don't think supporting arming Ukraine by any means necessary makes me into a campist or a NATO supporter. I think the article gets that wrong.
