I agree with Charles here (mostly, I have no idea who or what are the 
"Communist ranks" or what that is supposed to mean). Mamdani is steering his 
entire movement to work with in the power structure, not disrupt it. He stated 
this over and over again so I don't understand why some folks project onto him 
some movement toward independent working class political action? His policies 
are worth supporting but they are reforms/immediate demands and while some 
motion independently of city hall might develop, it is likely not going to 
happen.
