Caracas, November 24, 2025 (venezuelanalysis.com<https://venezuelanalysis.com/>) – Multiple international airlines have suspended flights to and from Caracas amidst a heightened US military presence in the Caribbean, after the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) issuance<https://www.faa.gov/air_traffic/publications/us_restrictions/venezuela/KICZ-Advisory-NOTAM-A0012-25.pdf> of a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) Friday..... The US’ Caribbean military deployment recently affected maritime trade as well, with Bloomberg reporting<https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-11-21/russian-tanker-idles-near-venezuela-after-us-warship-enters-path> that oil tanker Seahorse saw its path blocked by a US warship on November 14 as it attempted to deliver a cargo of naphtha to a Venezuelan port. ________________________________ My comment: It looks as if the US is planning a naval and aerial blockade of Venezuela. Up to now the US has relied on its control of the international financial system to intimidate companies and governments into complying with its restrictions on trade with Venezuela. But this is not totally effective, and it may not work at all with China. Hence the US may attempt to physically prevent ships and planes from going to Venezuela.
