If Einstein could have foreseen that his goal of a progressive bi-national 
state in Palestine - widely shared by others across the broad international 
left - was an illusion and that Fascist elements would come to dominate the new 
Jewish  state, he almost certainly would not have lent his name to a statement 
endorsing the Zionist project: " The people of the Freedom Party have had no 
part in the constructive achievements in Palestine. They have reclaimed no 
land, built no settlements, and only detracted from the Jewish defense 
activity", it noted.
