Thx Tom:
Indeed I was not familiar with that phrase, but do recognise its author who you
point out.

I am sorry - I missed three somewhat crucial words which were - "in the USSR".
My remark of course would have been totally incomprehensible given that
omission.

Thus to make a simple point summary:
i) Yes we can learn from the Bolivarian failure;
ii) and contrast its failure to the USSR revolutions's success from 1917-1953 -
and ultimate failure thereafter - despite the onslaught of the imperialist
inspired invasion of the USSR.
iii) The failure of the  Bolivarians was to halt at an early stage of the
democratic national revolution and the moves to seize their oil assets. But
they did not move further, and indeed fell into dependency upon China.
iv) Whatever your differences with the MR and JB Foster;'s view of Mezaros - to
be re-explored at a later date, but I must take a rain-check now - you and JBF
claim that the Bolivarian attempt at socialism was a good model. I was
disagreeing.

Cheers, Happy three kings day.
H
