Mark, I don't disagree. I think actually the call for armed self defense unnecessarily heightens tensions and not necessarily to our sides advantage. Of course I suspect John's "call" for such a thing is aimed at ICE, certainly suicidal. If one did it the way MAGA does it with massive armed demonstrations it gets reduced to cosplay mostly. I am sure most of us remember the photos of MAGA rallies during elections with a bunch of over weight fat guys carrying AR-15s. I wasn't impressed (seems a bunch of them were recruited into ICE).
I'm saying there is a time and place for this. With the recent subtle change now in tactics what has proven to be effective is the *constant* confrontation of ICE officers by citizens, even if they only number in the dozens. But folks are doing this consistently. The massive demonstration, impossible to ignore, of over 50,000 (seemed over 100,000 to me) against ICE calling on ICE to vacate the premises was key as well. I doubt we really disagree. One last thing, whether it was a "general strike" or not, it clear that the increase in labor union participating and walkouts also put something of a scare into the Tumpists aggressive behavior.
