You would expect that someone compulsively obsessed with Trotskyism would have 
an elementrary understanding that the movement, like any other, had multiple 
competing tendencies - including a sizeable minority which, like Streeck, 
considered the Soviet Union to be state capitalist. Those of us who belonged to 
sections affiliated with the (United Secretariat) Fourth International 
characterized the Soviet Union as a workers’ state, albeit a "degenerated" one.
