greetings comrades,

chomsky was an idealist philosopher, he had some radical ideas but in the
way that the ruling class likes radical ideas produced. not very
surprising he's in the files, and i don't think we need to downplay that
just because he was "on our side."

i have always wondered if academic intellectuals like chomsky are actually
on our side, or if they're being played by the c.i.a. and the ideological
state apparatuses, using the smart-sounding chomskys of the world to
neutralize the radical potential of our ideas. for real for real, i don't
know much about chomsky's history, but i don't recall him doing
revolutionary practices beyond writing those (very helpful) 100-page books
that people can read. but i am not going to spend spiritual energy morning
"the loss of chomsky," instead we should spend our energies coming to terms
with reality, moving on, and making new struggles.

we should not look to individuals for inspiration, but instead social
movements. what revolutionary movement was chomsky a part of?

in solidarity,
will
