Good am Marv: I do hold as you know, to the need for a vanguard party. But as you said - we are at “a low ebb”. So being completey transparent, this is our approach and our organisational reality at this time.
So in we are in MLRG very clear and situate ourselves in reality. We do not have delusions of grandeur. First - We are not a party - we consider MLRG to be a pre-party nucleus. We have no working class base to be quite open about it, again we do not have any delusions. We do work with many that likely would not join an explicit party. Consistent with that we also publish good articles whether written by those calling themselves a MLIst or not. Some of those are by those who would likely not join anything like a new MList party - even perhaps coming from a hostile trend to MLism. But also from people likely would join a MList party if it were the right party, or who belong to a MList party or trend against some of our analyses. For example we recently published this in the first category Esteban Mercante on Kohei Sato ( https://mlrg.online/current-events/kohei-saito-and-the-critical-ecology-of-karl-marx-reprint-from-esteban-mercatante/ ) May 25 at MLRG.online ; And this in the second category - a MLIst Greg Godels - MLRG.online November 27 ( http://mlrg.online/history/revolution-on-our-mind-two-hundred-fifty-years-since-the-declaration-of-independence-by-greg-godels/ ) We do most writing ourselves. What do we have as minimum requirements? We expect them to undertake about 6 or so classes on various aspects of theory with one of us; We expect some some sort of non-party progressive work engagement; Some fiscal levy depending on their means; and far more loosely, ultimately an expectation of some sort of ethical behaviour - although it is true we do not define that currently.
