Yes, I should have specified that the observation was about this thread.

Lenin after the failure of 1905 kept the Bolsheviks together as a genuine party 
organization of workers. People here are likely familiar with how he and 
Krupskaya labored on this task.

For comparison, what did Trotsky do in organizational party work from 1907 to 
1914? Apparently, he had quit the Mensheviks back in 1904, and the years of 
reaction were when Lenin pegged him as a scheming "windbag." Trotsky's admirers 
here, the bulk of this list, could perhaps fill in this part of his timeline:

1907
Exiled for a second time to Siberia, but again he escapes, settling in Vienna 
as a journalist.
1912-13
Serves as a war correspondent in the Balkan Wars.
