Hari - "Marxist-Leninists know that only a Marxist-Leninist party inside
of Iran can help the Iranian people. We ourselves are not aware of the
state of the Marxist-Leninist movement inside Iran...."

Just spent a few hours in the downtown L.A. Public Library stacks perusing
volumes on Iran. Of the volumes I was not aware of previously, this one
<https://www.juancole.com/2022/03/revolution-poignant-memoir.html>, by the
daughter of two Iranian-American activists
<https://www.nedasemnani.com/book>, students at Cal Berkeley in the late
60's, who were in the Organization of Communist Revolutionaries
(Marxist–Leninist). In '79, they returned to Iran. Her Father, who was in
the leadership of an underground leftist opposition group until the summer
of 1981 <https://thebaffler.com/salvos/revolutionary-daughter-semnani> ,
disagreed with their planning for an uprising, which took place later, on
1-25-'82, in the town of Amol
<https://thebaffler.com/salvos/revolutionary-daughter-semnani> . Via ,"*Rebels
With A Cause
<https://woodsmokeblog.wordpress.com/tag/union-of-iranian-communists/>*:
The failure of the Left in Iran
<https://woodsmokeblog.wordpress.com/tag/union-of-iranian-communists/>,"
and a Wikipedia entry on the Union of Iranian Communists (Sarbedaran)
you can read an acct. of the uprising. Her Father, arrested in Tehran, on
July 11, 1982, was imprisoned in the notorious Evin Prison and executed in
Amol on 1-25-'83, along with 21 other cadre. I assume he was tortured,
facing the rather macabre questioning of his captors, such as is related
in,"Tortured Confessions
<https://www.ucpress.edu/books/tortured-confessions/epub-pdf> : Prisons
and Public Recantations in Modern Iran
<https://archive.org/details/torturedconfessi0000abra>," by Ervand
Abrahamian.

As for contemporary M-L's in Iran, my gut tells me, they are few and far
between. The Communist Party of Iran (Marxist–Leninist–Maoist

)
which has roots in the Sarbedaran Movement and the Union of Iranian
Communists (Sarbedaran)
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Union_of_Iranian_Communists_(Sarbedaran)> is
among the organizations listed @ Maoist organisations in Iran
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Maoist_organisations_in_Iran>. I'd
have to dig a little bit more to ascertain whether the

of Communist Revolutionaries (Marxist–Leninist)

& the OCR, here

represents any continuity. A cursory scroll through their webpages
<https://goingagainstthetide.org/2024/09/10/the-rcp/>, would appear to
reflect some experiences in or with the RCP in the 70's. From, "Reading
Lolita in Tehran," I gather the RCP had some following in the Iranian
Student Association
<https://www.counterpunch.org/2023/06/09/the-iranian-students-association-and-the-end-of-the-shah/>
back in the 70's. I assume, "This Flame Within :
