Dear Michael P:

Good evening.
Firstly many sincere thanks for these references. Very useful indeed, and I
will get through them.
You say " As for contemporary M-L's in Iran, my gut tells me, they are few and
far between.” I would say that your gut seems very reliable.

I had assumed that " Reading Lolita in Tehran ” was some sort of New Age Fest
book. But perhaps I should give it a whirl. Thank you especially for the links
to the article by Neda Semnani no. 29 October 2015;  the I.A. version of
E.Arbrahamian’s book; and the Amol uprising via the Woodsmoke Blog.

If Paul Saba is watching this space, he may have some other relevant
references; but i will check with him anyway, and if so I will add onto your
list Michael P.

So on adding to your list:
I had decided to start from the earlier period  and work to the more recent
times. Although it is a more laborious and slower method - I previously have
found that to be a way of generally helping me to understand better. May not
work for all, but I need to soak into it.

So I started with the precursors to the Tudeh - the pondering and vacillating
social-democratic to communist party. I also have been trying to get at the
land reforms (so-called) preceding, and then under the Shah Reza P.

In the same sharing spirit as you - I share my lot with you and whoever else
wants. I have the pdfs of the articles , (i.e. I do not have the pdfs of the
books)  should anyone want them. Including you of course Michael.
Please contact me off-line and I will with pleasure send along.
Some of them - as usual - are somewhat academic and dry.

The books are better, and in especial Zabih, Sepehr (see below) are very good
over-views of a long history. I have not tried to track the books via the IA;
or other Lib sources that you know better than I Michael.
