Indeed. But, as you're aware, the concern has always been the law of unintended 
consequences - particularly in relation to the actions of an aggressive and 
overconfident rogue state like the United States since the end of WW II.  I'm 
not sure that its confidence has been enough dented by the Iran war, on top of 
the imbroglios in Iraq and Afghanistan, that it will willingly retreat into the 
Western hemisphere and that its multinationals will accept the surrender of US 
control over global markets and resources.  On the other hand, there's a strong 
current within the military and political establishment and corporate sector 
which wants an accomodation with China and it will be interesting to see which 
tendency prevails.
