If you were to enable Sendmail on the Linux box, you could no
longer forward it with IPPORTFW to the Exchange server. Yet, you COULD
have Sendmail do forwarding to your Exchange server based on the email
headers, etc. This would be a different topic.

To not lose any email, shut down the SMTP IPPORTFW and then email will
be queued on the senders side until the client's SMTP server is
functioning properly again.
