Yes, I'm following up to my own post... I was contacted off list (thanks, Fred) and asked a simple question. (Sort of fits for a simple mistake, hmm?) I had a typo on line 6 of my /etc/conf.modules file. Fixed the typo (actually, deleted the unneeded line) and re-ran the rc.firewall file, and my ftp now works just fine. I'm happy.
