Well I am not a pro in this subject. However, I have seen the tcpdump of my masqing server often enough to know, that the same things are happening in my network, too. However, the masqed computers do not arp query the gateway that the masqing server uses. They have no idea about the address of the actual gw that the masqing server uses, as they should absolutely have no idea of it, because their gateways are set to the IP of the masquerading server. The real gateway is not mentioned ANYWHERE in their config. You should check this. And about the masqerading server arp querying the IP of the masqueraded computers: it is quite normal. My one doesz the same, too, every 6 minutes or so. Finallly... the masquerading server has to find out what ethernet address to send those packets to.... TmL P.S.: I might be completely wrong. If so, I wanna know the truth :) _______________________________________________ Masq maillist - [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://tiffany.indyramp.com/mailman/listinfo/masq Admin requests can be handled by web (above) or [EMAIL PROTECTED]
