Hi,
I just set up my own network with SuSE Linux 5.3 and kernel 2.0.35
I redid my kernel and included basically all network options and recompiled
it.
I have firewall and masq turned on and I can surf on my host and any
subnetwork machines. I can also use any of the included ip_masq modules of
SuSE like for ftp from the subnet.
Now I like to get ICQ going and I got trouble.
The ip_masq_icq instructions say you have to have IPPortFW included in the
kernel.
I have done so.
It also mentions a patch package on the site:
http://www.ox.compsoc.org.uk/~steve/portforwarding.html
I gotten the subs-patch-1.37.gz and the ipportfw.c
Now I followed the rules posted on the site on patching and compiling.
It says it patches my kernel and the ipportfw.o is insmoded as well.
But on call of a compiled
#insmod ip_masq_icq.o
Unresolved symbol ip_masq_add
Unresolved symbol ip_masq_del
Now there was something else I did but I can't remember exactly.
I do remember though that /sbin/ipportfw is executable. I do also remember
it(my system) once, after my patch run, asked me: Are you sure you installed
the ipportfw patch?
Now I doubt the patch worked. How can I make sure???
Thanks for any help,
Marcel
