I've been dealing with this same problem, under a very similar setup (in
my case, Windows 95/Linux 2.2.9). I've been following the instructions on
the Linux VP page maintained by the illustrious maintainer of this list,
John Hardin, according to which I (and you) need to install a patch
available at
http://bmrc.berkeley.edu/people/chaffee/linux_pptp.html
I patched my kernel successfully (as this list can attest--I harassed them
during the process), but haven't gotten it to build:

ipv4.o(.text+0xee0): undefined reference to `ip_masquerade_proto'
net/network.a(ipv4.o): In function `ip_fw_demasquerade':
ipv4.o(.text+0x1d8f): undefined reference to `ip_demasquerade_proto'
net/network.a(ipv4.o): In function `ip_masq_init':
ipv4.o(.text.init+0x7c): undefined reference to `ip_masq_mod_init'
make: *** [vmlinux] Error 1
Have you had the same experience? Anyone else have suggestions?
