I have properly configured the RedHat 5.2 OS and upgraded it to Linux
2.2.4. I have a 686 Server with two 3Com Ethernet Cards. One card
connects to the Internet, the other connects to an Internal Network.

The Goal here is to allow Internal Connections to the Private Network,
while you are logged into the Server.

With that said, I can already connect through the Dual Interfaced Server
to get out onto the Internet. My problem is this.

While on the Server,

I can Ping to an IP address.

Traceroute to the Internal IP Address doesn't work unless you specify
the correct Ethernet Controller (who wrote that?), I'm told that
traceroute does not use the Route Table. Why, please don't ask me!

I cannot telnet to the Internal Address.

FTPs from the Internal Network Fail to the server. The initial
connection works fine, but if you ask for a ls of a directory, the
connection hangs.

Can some one please assist me in getting a connection (telnet, ftp,
ftp-data) to work consistently between the internal network and the
Server?

TIA
