I've noticed some strange address translation (or lack there of) when
sending packets from an internal machine to the external address of the
masqerade server.
Here's an example: The server's internal address is 192.168.0.1, and
the external interface is, say, 222.222.222.222. There are two
masqeraded machines: 192.168.0.100 and 192.168.0.101. If I send a UDP
packet from 192.168.0.100 to 222.222.222.222, I would expect the source
address to be translated to 222.222.222.222, but it's not.
In another example, if I send a packet from 192.168.0.100 to
192.168.0.101 via a forwarded port on the server, I would also expect
the source address to be translated to 222.222.222.222, but, again, it
does not.
This might seem trivial, but it has an effect on some games, such as
Starcraft, which prevents two computers behind the same masqerade server
from joining the same internet game.
Does anyone know of any patch?
