Thanks to everyone that gave me such a quick reply.
However, I tried two suggestions which both had no effect.
1. Got the new kernelcfg from the Red Hat site
2. Changed /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit file to have only
"depmod -a"
I have the kernel configured properly, (I'm pretty sure
I have anyway) and I run
make zImage
make modules
make modules_install
Everything compiles cleanly, but after I recompile, if
I do a "depmod -a -e" there are tons of unresolved symbols. The
system boots ok, but I have no ethernet or ppp, etc.
Could someone with Red Hat 5.1 please give me a procedure that they
used to get masquerading working?
I have read the FAQ and the extension for RH 5.1, but
it doesn't seem to work for me. I had a ppp connection and ethernet
working previous to the recompile. This
is a clean system (P133, 64MB).
Again, I really appreciate the quick response I got to
my last query, and hopefully there is someone here who
has run into this before.
Thanx,
==
