You are close.. change -W to "slip0". The -W command is for the
Internet-connected interface.

Indeed, the following statement works fine for me:
ipfwadm -F -a m -S rigel/32 -D 0.0.0.0/0
I strongly suggest to add a hint to the HOWTO file about the correct
usage of -W.
