most Cape Cod FDs seem to call back off duty staff any time that an
ambulance reports that they will be committed to transport a patient
to a hospital

-------------------------

Provincetown had 2 EMS calls this afternoon and I am as confused as usual

1644 - Ptown Fire pages out to all Rescue receivers - guy with numb
arm at Jimmys Hideaway 179 (??? - I probably dont want to know))

1644 - "Lower Cape OK"

1648 - "197 at scene" (thats a Ptown FD amb)

1705 - "197 to CCH - tone 1 for coverage"

first and 2nd tones for coverage

1719 - 2nd EMS call - trip and fall with head injury at pharmacy

1721 - "599 enroute from Truro" - thats a Lower Cape amb

1721 - "196 responding" - thats a Ptown FD amb

1724 - "196 at scene"

1733 - "196 committed - request 2 to cover"

first and 2nd tones for coverage

1736 - "196 to CCH BLS - 1 medic back in town - Truro has a BLS crew"

then - on the Truro FD talkgroup - 196 gave the same message to the
Truro dispatcher

(I was just told that Lower Cape runs 1 amb from Ptown and 1 amb from Truro)

FireNews.org says that Ptown FD has 3 ambs - Truro FD has 2 ambs - and
Lower Cape has 2 ambs

Based on what I heard today - I will have to guess that each
Provincetown EMS call gets 2 ambulances usually - 1 of which is a
Lower Cape amb

I dont know where 599 dissappeared to today - unless after the first
call, one medic got in the 599 truck and drove it to Ptown

I sense that the general theme is that Lower Cape Amb does the
majority of the transports to Hyamnis in order to keep the Truro and
Provincetown ambs close to home - is that correct?

Seems that staffing today is - 2 Lower Cape EMS people on a Lower Cape
Amb in Truro Fire Station - 2 Lower Cape EMS people on a Lower Cape
Amb in Lower Cape Ptown garage - maybe 2 Ptown FD FF/EMT in Ptown fire
station backed up by pager equipped oncall people - 2 Truro FD FF/EMT
in Truro Fire Station backed up by pager equipped oncall people -
unknown of Lower Cape has any pager equipped oncall people - maybe
they dont -(the Fd people might be FF/PM actually)

so many questions - such a small molehill
