ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WALA) - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that involved two ambulances and an SUV in Escambia County this afternoon. Multi-vehicle crash(First Alert 4) According to the FHP, two Escambia County EMS ambulances were headed west on State Road 173 (North Blue Angel Parkway) and approaching stopped traffic near Longleaf Creek Drive. One ambulance and an SUV behind it came to a stop. However, the driver of the other ambulance didn’t see the stopped traffic and crashed into the SUV, which then hit the back of the first ambulance, state troopers said. The Pensacola man driving the SUV was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries, the FHP said. Each ambulance carried a passenger, according to troopers. However, the FHP did not indicate whether the ambulances carried patients. Neither the ambulance drivers nor their passengers were injured, authorities said. Copyright 2025 WALA. All rights reserved.
