Hi all,
I'd also like to put myself forward to co-chair MAT WG.
I always enjoy MAT WG meetings. I'm a big fan of building connections
between people who do network operations and people who do network data
analysis, and MAT is a part of that; I think it's a great venue for
making progress on how we do Internet measurement.
Day-job: I'm in the office of the CTO at Fastly, where I work on
Internet measurement and data analysis. Formerly I was on the NCC's R&D
team, and through that I have good links within this community and
beyond. In that role I participated in the RACI review process; more
broadly, I've also sat on IRTF ANRP committees, and on program
committees for venues including PAM, TMA, and CCR, which many of you
submit work to.
I think I have a good view on topics that fit MAT, and I'd like the
opportunity to help MAT thrive in the future.
Cheers,
S.

Greetings, all,
It has been a while since we have run our chair selection process (see
https://www.ripe.net/ripe/mail/archives/mat-wg/2015-February/000559.html); as
we look to returning to in-person meetings in Berlin it occurred to us that now
would be a good time to do so.
To save you the fun of clicking through to the list archives, the process is as
follows:
1. A call for interested parties is made on the WG mailing list at three yearly
intervals, or as needed
2. Interested parties have 2 weeks to make their interest known via the mailing
list
3. The MAT-WG chairs issue a call for discussion as per normal. WG members
express their approval or otherwise of the presented candidates.
4. After two weeks the chairs declare consensus as they would do for a policy
proposal
Following steps 1 and 2 of this process:
If you are interested in co-chairing MAT WG, please make your intent known by
sending a message to mat-wg@ripe.net by Monday 28 March 2022; once we have a
candidate list, wi’ll issue a call for discussion on the list.
Many thanks, cheers,
Nina + Brian (MAT WG chairs)
