Well, I had my bib program open, so here are a couple formats:

Could this be put up on the website somewhere in a easily-found place?
Maybe a short sentence and link in the bar on the right under "Other
stuff"?  Something like "To cite matplotlib in a paper, use <a
href=''> this reference</a>." or something.

This would help by providing a consistent way of citing matplotlib.  Without this, different authors may reference matplotlib different ways, thereby diluting the impact of the above reference.  Plus, it always annoyed me to try and figure out how to cite things like matplotlib or various data sources.
