Dear Sir Zimmerman,

We were using traditional 'C' programs those days developed by self and not
much efficient.. to some extent one DOS based EMTP program frequently used in
Universities..

But I really appreciate the works done in matpower and power system analysis
toolbox for power flow studies, which are dreams for me when I was doing my
masters in power systems engineering around 15 years back.

MATPOWER was first released about 12 years ago, so I'm not sure what you were
using 15 years back.

Dear Sir Zimmerman,

(1) I want to know if I have missed any release between matpower 3.2 and 4.0.

No, you have not.

(2) Matpower is mainly for power flow studies in a power grid , whether it
is possible to include in matpower the study of auxiliary power supply systems
in a typical power plant having diesel generators, power and auxiliary
transformers and switchgears/ MCC, battery and Rectifier/ Inverter systems
(3) As an example, I want to analyse sequential loading of diesel generators
, change over transient of normal power supply to reserve power supply, load
flow and fault analysis of auxiliary power systems in a nuclear power plant
having components mentioned in point (2)

As you mentioned, MATPOWER really is about power flow and optimal power flow in
a power grid. Whether it can be used for other purposes depends entirely on how
closely the model from your problem matches that of a traditional power grid.
