Help guys. Ive tried everything on FAQ #5. Cant converge! Attached are my
system data and code to load the excel file to matpower format.

Subject: Re: running opf to get system data

Thanks Ray. I did as you say and got some results - but they do not converge. please see below - what can i do about that?

> In mips at 422
  In mipsopf_solver at 145
  In opf_execute at 106
  In opf at 225
  In runopf at 96
Warning: Matrix is singular to working precision.

Numerically Failed

Did not converge in 2 iterations.

If you leave columns empty in the input file then it is not a valid case file format and you will get an error. Just use 1 and 0 for the voltage magnitude and angle and anything you like for Pg and Qg. When you run the OPF these values will all be replaced by the solution values.

Hi guys. I’ll just like to be clearer with my objective.

I have an incomplete data set - i.e missing the voltage magnitude and angle for the buses. So i could not fill in those columns. I was thinking of using the OPF function to get the Vm, Va, PG, and QG.

How can i deal with my incomplete data set. I just need to minimise losses in this bus topology? I’ve all the line impedance and matrix ready.

Hi all

I’ve set all generators’ cost to be the same and left the voltage magnitude, angle and the Pgen Qgen empty for all buses. I then run an OPF and got an error.

I wish to obtain the voltage magnitude, angle, and Pgen Qgen for each bus using this method. Is it possible?

Also, what other ways can i take to get the 4 parameters for my case?
