Well, I'm re-installing it and attempting to re-create the error. I'm 
not used to Unix so you'll have to excuse me.

That's what I thought. Seeing as I shut it down properly it can't 
even be that....

I hope the hard disk isn't shot. I only just got it. Is there any way 
I can verify it other than running fsck over the Unix portions?
