I've just recently installed YDL 2.2 as well, but on a 8500/180. The mouse
locks up if you choose a graphical login. If you do a text login, then type
in startx, Xwindows starts up just fine. I'm planning to use it to learn
Linux (of course!) as well as get more familiar with coding HTML/PHP/etc.

I've had problems trying to change themes in KDE - it will endlessly try to
refresh the background. There's not too much that can be done about it.
Also, it seems stuck in 640x480, regardless of the resolution I choose.
Then again, I don't know how to change them yet.

Installing it seemed rather fast for a 2x CD-ROM drive, but the last time I
tried was on my 9500/200 on an external 4.3GB drive. It took a few hours to
install in that configuration, and takes about an hour on the 8500.

I tried installing YDL 2.3 today, but it crashed in several places. I'm
assuming a bad disc. I'll try again later, or attempt Mandrake.

I have to agree with you James - this list seems very dead.
