hello, I installed Debian linux on my Centris 650 and I'm having trouble booting it the first time after installation. I installed the base system and everything following the directions in the installer. I go to the penguin booter and change the settings to that it boots on the linux partitions rather than the RAM disk. I go to boot and it says, after a the usual stream of scrolling text, that the partitions could not be activated or something to that effect. then it hangs. I assume that the computer has locked so I reboot the Mac. However, I read somewhere that the system has to build some sort of a database library or something, and that it takes some time. How much time does it take? does it usually hang like that? what should the scrolling text say if it finds the linux partition or recognises it? Basically, what should I see on the first boot up? I read everything about the installation but no where does it really explain what happens after. please help! thanks
