i haven't tried Mandrake9 on ppc yet (9.1 is nice on my AMD box) but i just tried to install Yellow Dog 3 on my power mac 7200 (it failed half way thru) and successfully got it on my b/w G3. new world macs run Linux better (maybe), but old world macs can't have osx (more or less, thanks to ryan rempell)...

specifying an alternative install directory/partition is sometimes tricky. let me try the mandrake install and get back with my thoughts on the matter.

ps. Mac on Linux is so coool. Running OS9 in a window in YDL3 is so freaking awesome.
