I'm abut to start building a 9500 up into a *nix system (specs below) with either Yellowdog or BSD. I was wondering how I would go about setting up a bootable striped RAID under Linux, and if there was any way that could also be bootable from OS 9 and/or X with XPostFacto. If not, I could also install a small SCSI disk for Mac booting - if I do that, would it be possible to access the RAID volumes?
I would also appreciate any tips on video cards, and dual processor support. I'll be using a Radeon during set-up, but that will eventually go to another machine. I've heard that it is possible to use a PC video card with *nix drivers. If so, how do I build the drivers into my PPC *nix?
Clae.
9500 or 9600 mb, Newer twin 604, Acard 66mHz ATA card and/or SCSI drives, Radeon 7000 for testing, unknown permanent video card.
