there had been an error in the catalog migration, when the database manager password is longer than 9 characters. Is this the case for your database? This bug has been fixed in release 7.5.00 Build 18.
I just tried an upgrade from 7.5.0.16 zu 7.5.0.18, and the error was still present. I saw that i can change the manager-password of the DB in offline-mode, did that, and the catalog migration went fine.
