Hi all
I very recently downloaded MaxDB and it installed fine on my Windows XP
Professional system. I created a db instance as part of the installation
process. Everything still fine. I even hooked up WebSphere to MaxDB through
the XADataSource and everything was still great! Wow! Posting messages on MQ
and modifying a datasource in MaxDB actually works.
However, when I tried to create another db instance I ran into trouble. I
first tried DBMGUI (with and without default settings), and it fails
everytime. A dialog box pops up and says "-24901 database have to be in
operational state ADMIN...", etc. The knldiag.err file has this:

2005-10-13 15:02:30 0xB0 ERR 18159 VOLUMEIO Could not open volume
'DAT_0001', rc = 2
2005-10-13 15:02:30 0xC78 ERR 26 IOMan IOMan_Volume.cpp:976
2005-10-13 15:02:30 0xC78 ERR 26 IOMan 2005-10-13 15:02:30 IOMan
Error 26
2005-10-13 15:02:30 0xC78 ERR 26 IOMan Attach error on Data
volume 1: could not open volume
2005-10-13 15:02:30 0xC78 ERR 35 IOMan IOMan_Manager.cpp:587
2005-10-13 15:02:30 0xC78 ERR 35 IOMan 2005-10-13 15:02:30 IOMan
Error 35
2005-10-13 15:02:30 0xC78 ERR 35 IOMan Bad restart page on Data
volume 0 blockno 0

When I try to use DBMCLI it also fails. I follow the example for creating a
db in the Windows Help file and when I do a db_activate, I get

ERR
-24988,ERR_UNKNOWN: unknown error

with absolutely no additional info anywhere that I looked.

Remember that I managed to successfully create a db instance at install time
using the same logged-on user as later.

Comments anyone? Please?
