I was thinking the same thing, but I hate to burden my customers with the task of reauthorization. That doesn't reflect well on my company. We should be taking care of this for them, not making work for them. And also all the people that lose their codes and put the pressure on customer service here. Uggg. Of course, we can always READ the old prefs, and resave it to the new place invisibly too. Couple questions: Before Lion, wasn't the proper place to put preferences was the SharedPreferences folder, not the SharedApplicationData folder? Serial numbers are really a Preference, not application data. But maybe that's splitting hairs. But.. why did you not switch placement to the SpecialFolders.ApplicationData folder /Users/[you]/Application Support/OurFolder? Why did you decide SpecialFolders.Documents? Why would you store application serial numbers in a Documents folder? That's not a document at all.
