Hi Christian,

There really aren't too many extra things required, and of course it would make 
the plugin more complete for other users as a substitute for QuickTime:

Get the current amplitude of a playing sound file
Get playback position
Check if done playing
Get the raw sound data (samples)

Set playback position
Set the active segment (starting and ending positions that actually get played)
Set playback rate (speed)
Set playback pitch
Set playback volume
Set Output device and channel mappings - this means there also needs to be a 
way to get a list of the valid sound output devices

(some of these may already exist, this is a list of what I require)
