Matthew,

thanks for the comments.

for the demo reminders, of course). The problem, as you say is with
the NC2 version. I'm assuming you use MD standalone, without NC2-3 The
idea is you download the Vapor update which is fully functional
(-keyfile, of course) then you replace the main executable with a
special NC version- which uses the otherwise fully usable MD1.4.4
update. I am not sure who instigated this 'unusual' method i.e. Active
or Vapor- but since Olli Wagner wrote the NC version, with
instructions in how to upgrade- it is within the licence parameters of
NC package.

To be perfectly honest, and with the greatest of respect to OW's
programming skills, I would feel much more confident about spending
more money once I have this working; I will upgrade to the full NC3
package in the near future. In any case, whilst I don't mind paying
for upgrades- why should I have to pay AGAIN for the same piece of
software, but working?

I will upgrade to NC3, because its the best- not because of any
loyalty to Active Vapor etc unless they suddenly honour there
after-sales promise of support. I use my Amiga to run my business
not just as a hobby- so time without email is costing me business. I
think that the Vapor concept is an excellent one, the NetConnect
bundle was one of the most professional net packages on ANY platform-
it is just let down by poor support from Active (now defunct?). I know
that the programmers do not work full time, and that the market is not
big enough to support them, but I think two weeks without any response
or acknowledgement from Vapor/Active is pretty poor.

Thats that out of my system. It might seem like over-complaining, but
before sending flame throwers to me, can anyone *honestly* sayI am
wrong and that you are happy withActive tech support?

Derek
