I have semi-solved the problem. Before I state the method,
let me say that I, too, wondered why I could get my POP mail
from anyplace, no matter to whom I was connected. i.e. I have
POP service through both MindSpring and AmigaOnLine. If I am
connected to MindSpring, I can still get my POP mail from the
AmigaOnLine POP server, and vice versa. What I cannot do is to
send any mail through the other's SMTP server. This is the
situation, basically, that was queried, pertaining to MD.

The only solution I can do is to list a "Reply To:" address
which is not dependent on any dialup ISP. In this case,
"[EMAIL PROTECTED]" The Association for Computing Machinery
allows themselves to be used as a relay point. Thus, when you
send something to [EMAIL PROTECTED], the message gets rerouted
to whatever E-Mail server I wish (providing the server is with a
dialup ISP I use). This way, it does not matter through which-
ever ISP I send my messages. (I also use at least one other
dialup ISP.)

   Hope this helps, a bit.

                                         Julian.

P.S. There is more to doing this right. If you wish to know
the details, send me a private message.
