The MEM OVER error means that the unit's internal RAM overflowed with
recorded audio before it was able to write the RAM contents to
disc.

My guess is that you are *not* using a 220v to 110v step-down
transformer and that the 220v to 3vdc adapter you are using is noisy,
causing the MD's disc/optical/servo system to malfunction. Does it
play properly when using the transformer?

I have a 5vdc adapter for a portable CD player that will not run my
Aiwa MD recorder properly. Not all wall-warts are created equal.

My suggestion is to try a 220-110 step-down transformer with the
included 3vdc adapter, or to take J. Coon's suggestion of producing
100VAC for the unit if you are already.

Or perhaps your MZ-R91 has a fault.
