Thanks, Rick. So they have the same timer facility, keyboard port, Scale
Factor Edit, LP modes, and type-R ATRAC, but the 940 costs and weighs more
and uses more power. Sounds like a wrong choice for me.
Any information on (1) differences in street price or (2) availability in the
US? If I have to import a single 640 to get one and then find no service
here, that's enough to tilt the balance toward the 940, even if it's $50 or
so more expensive. (Then again, currency conversion and international ship-
ping would likely wipe out most of that savings even if the machine never
needs service.)
