Hello. I've been lurking on here for a while but finally have a question.
I recently acquired an Audio Alchemy Digital Transmission Interface device.
I read somewhere that the original version of this device is able to
remove the SCMS code from digital recordings. I *think* this is the first
version. The problem is, I have no means at this time of testing to see if
it removes the SCMS, so I'd like to ask anyone's help in determining if
this is the "correct" version. The run-down:

-name on front is "Audio Alcemy" on left,
      "Digital Transmission Interface" on right
-the front has:
        -input selection switch
        -"locked" indicator light
-power indicator lights (Rx and Tx)
-phase selection switch (0 and 180 degress)
-the back has:
        -digital input
        -I2S Bus selection switch
        -I2S Bus output
        -optical input
        -coax input
        -DC input

Also, in the future if I get a cheap Sony CD player with digital out and
feed it through this device (whether or not the SCMS thing works), will I
really be able to hear an improvement in my music? If you could give me
any input, it would be greatly appreciated. -Matt
