Unless your aim is to backup data at about 2kbps or so, the answer
is almost certainly your MZ-R30 cannot be used.  Sorry.
The only way I know any consumer MD audio equipment could store
data would be like the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64 etc did in the
early to mid 80's.  You'd be better off with a 360K 5 1/4" floppy disk!
Or go crazy and get a 1.44MB 3 1/2" drive :-)
